Ana María Rodríguez is a visual storyteller whose work explores maternal health, reproductive justice and the politics of care. Her reporting has focused on stories often overlooked within institutional narratives, particularly those affecting women and marginalized communities.

Her award-winning documentary An Invisible Wound (2024) examines obstetric violence and the role of midwives in Puerto Rico and the United States. Following the release of the documentary and a series of maternal health awareness community screenings, she founded the Puerto Rico Birth Collective, a network of birth workers and cross-disciplinary collaborators bringing information, education and community support around women-centered care, reproductive autonomy and respectful birth on the island.
